WGC Accenture Match Play Championship. Tiger Woods is a 3-time winner of the WGC Match Play Championship . Tiger Woods looks like he's playing better than he was at the nadir of his slump, and did alright in Pebble Beach although he faded in the final round of the Pro-Am. Woods's swing looks better than usual, although his putting was all over the place on Sunday. Tiger still needs to keep on refining his game if he wants to get back to winning the championships everyone believes he's capable of winning.
Woods usually takes a lot of rest before his next tournament, but it's looking as if he's not going to wait too long before he's back out there. Woods announced on his website that he'll participate in the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship next week. Woods has won the Match Play three times, the last one being in 2008.
Woods also announced he'll be playing at Doral and at the Honda Classic the first two weeks of March.
On the final day, the last two golfers face off in the championship match, while the two semifinal losers play each other in a consolation match to determine third and fourth places. Both final-day matches are 18 holes (prior to 2011 the final was 36 holes).
