On the PGA Tour, starting the new season off, is two tournaments in Hawaii. The first one is the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, and it happens in Maui from January 6th to the 9th. After that, the Sony Open in Hawaii will be held. It all happens at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii with a $5,500,000 purse. It runs from January 12th through the 15th and Mark Wilson won last year, taking home $990,000 and 500 FedEx Cup points. The following tournament will be the Humana Challenge in La Quinta, California.

The PGA Tour's Sony Open in Hawaii will take place at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, where they will play on the 7,068 yard course, at a Par 70. The prize purse for this tournament is $5,500,000 and Ryan Palmer won the tournament last year, posting a 66, which was four under, and just one stroke below Robert Allenby, who finished with a 67, for a total of 15 under 265. It was the third title that Palmer has won, the first in 2004 and the second in 2008 at the Ginn Sur Mer Classic. This tournament is also worth 500 FedEx Cup points.
